Ceiling fabrics

Hi all,

I'm trying to find out what fabric to use for redoing the ceiling of my van (driver 'cabin' and possibly also the whole ceiling in the back), could any of you tell me what's on the ceiling of yours? And could you post some pictures if you have them? I have considered keeping it without
 
oops.. something went wrong. I considered keeping it without fabric, after redoing all the rotten wood, but if I can find something nice I'd like to put it up, since I think the upholstery was there all along and I like to keep it 'original' :)
 
Hi Sandra. The cabs in ours have a textured vinyl covered mill board head liner, it's a type of fibre board, often used in old cars for parcel shelves and glove compartment liners, probably about 3 mm thick. The best place to find it would probably be a car trimmers supplier.

The liner in the rear of our Auto-Sleeper is conventional old car headlining but the inside of the pop top is actually a sprayed on flock covering that is slowly falling to bits:(
Hopefully all this will be of some help.
 
My autosleeper has ‘vinyl’ material on my cab roof and rear side bits. The pop up has nothing. That’s how it came. Going to put sticky back insulation on roof then some sticky back felt/trim stuff8B965874-2A2A-4E29-A7E5-EB4D512563EF.jpegA450AA3E-B5C5-4E26-AE1B-039BC1B4A701.jpeg
 
Just as a bit of a tip when it comes to roof linings due to high temperatures it is vital to use heat resistant glue and where possible paint the surface with a pva based paint.
 
Got a sample of foam/foil sticky car insulation but will certainly check glue and research paint. Thanks
 
I'm sure that I've got the original cab fabric packed away in one of my many boxes of parts in my loft. I'm getting a few bits down for my rebuild tomorrow so I will find it up and post some pics for you.
Great looking van you have there, cracking colour too
