Hi guys, Question: what carb can be easily fitted to the standard 1725 engine to improve performance, mpg...?

"RAN"the van & N0.1

My Highwayman has an SU on it with K&N filter, it seems to work well and the van pulls okay to. Not sure if I am getting more than 20mpg...I'm guessing that's normal though...if you want I can get the SU model number from it and also the needle type.

If I should be getting more than 20 mpg please let me know how to do it (I am about to fit an elctronic ignition I have to it also).

Cheers

you will get more mpg if you replace the standard exhaust with a less restrictive one :)

Hi Commerracer,

can you knock the baffles through or is there a system available which is less resrictive?

Does it at add much to the MPG???

Cheers

you could just knock the baffles out but it would be noisy ,a good system to use is the RC40 for a mini, its straight through but still silences very well [^]. could add 2-5 mpg :)

is this the beast?

Which part/s should I look into getting, is there much modification needed?

thats the fella :), you only need the two silencers really. it needs a little cutting/welding/sleeving to fit but nothing too taxing. it took me an hour to fit one to RAN :p
