Camper wanted

Hi, I'm new to this so excuse me if I sound totally ignorant about these beautiful vans.....

We are looking for a Commer that we can use as a family camper. I have two small children and we would like a four berth van. I have seen a few Commers around and have always admired them, we would love to own one and have made the decision to make the purchase!

Finding one seems like it is going to be tough, but we are not fussy about type only that it can accommodate us all. Ideally I would like it to be tax exempt but again, not essential.

If anyone has a van that they want to go to a new (and very loving!) home, would you contact me?

Thank you
Hazel

Hi Hazel and welcome to the Madhouse:D
Are you looking for a camper that is on the road and ready to use or would a project be of any interest.

Thank you guys, it's very exciting if not a little scary!

I'm not sure we could manage a big project, our budget it tight and I would be worried the costs would spiral. Thanks for info on Gordon, I'll check that out.

Martin - are you selling a Harvey and a John? Sorry I'm not very good at this yet!

Thanks for your welcome everyone!

No I'm John and my van is Harvey. He's being a bit naughty just now - he's gone and got some more rust:I

This is the van I was thinking about - a real bargain if you don't mind a little bit of work re-fitting the interior:)

I just looked at the Macreadies van you mentioned Panky - how much would it cost to convert the interior of this nicely and into a 4 berth do you think?

I'm not sure if it is still for sale, but if it is I wanted to check how much it would cost before contacting him!

Not sure how many it sleeps as it is. A four berth would normally consist of a double bed and a couple of hammock bunks in the roof. Even if it's only a two sleeper adding a couple of bunks wouldn't be too expensive or difficult to fit. Best to give him a ring and see what you get:)
