brake drums

hi everyone my names matt im new ,im having trouble getting my front brake drums off, can anyone help me.do i have to undo anything to release them, apart from handbrake of course,,,

theres a set screw on the front face, between 2 of the wheel bolts- large crosshead/phillips head. its coutersunk and may be hidden by wheel bearing gunge.

youll also need to back off your shoe adjusters a turn or 2 i should think, that hole on the outside edge of the front face is for this. the adjuster is at the bottom slightly towards the back of the vehicle, youll need to stick your finger through the hole to feel it. theres a round wheel with noches in, stick a screwdriver in and lever on the side of the hole to turn it.

the drums are also hubcentric, meaning theyre a wedge fit onto the hub to keep them centred. once youve done the above, give em a sharp crack on the side (taking care not to hit the dust lip at the back), this will make them ring and pop em off the hub then they should just slide straight off the studs.

thanks for your advice mate ive managed to get them off,,,,cheersquote:
