You can order ball joints by size, and they show you how to measure them. They do imperial and metric sizes. I know they are in the US, but There must be a supplier in OZ that supplies them to dimensions like that company, rather than as a part no. for a particular vehicle.

You could have a look through the parts list in the downloads section on home page and see if the you can cross reference the Rootes par No with something else but it would be a long shot. Be aware as well that some of the ball joints/track rod ends have a left hand thread so could be unique.
