Hi Gang,
I'm back! Sorry I've been away for so long, work/family/facebook and general other stuff got in the way which combined to create a massive loss of Commer MOJO. But now the summer is here! (well spring anyway)

Jessica is trying to come out of a winter of hibernation but is in need of a little help. I fitted the 'glass rear valance (made a bit of a mess if I'm honest) its a good part though and looks lot better than the rusty one I took off.

the latest problem is the perennial snakeskin :eek:( I can't afford a new tank just yet (it is on the list though Racer!) so I've given it a little re-furb and it looks ok so far. I've also gone some way to fitting an electric fuel pump too.

She's still not back yet (staring issues) but I promise there will be lots of photos when she it.

Tim, I have a job lot of ebay fuel filters which I'll be travelling with for a while! When I manage to dig out the camera, I'll upload some snakeskin photos - yuck!

well the lecci pump is all plumbed and wired in and I managed to get her started for the first time in ages! Yay! thanks again for the help Baz.

have a few more things to do then we should be good for the open road.

one of the things I need to sort is a new brake light switch - one of the terminals broke off whilst I was doing all the fiddling in the engine bay - GRRRRR....

A good mod is to fit a micro switch under the brake pedal instead of replacing the original in the brake pipe - no bleeding required (except from your knuckles maybe:I)

You can fit a switch without having to bleed the brakes. Sit in the drivers seat and with your foot resting on the brake pedal so as you can just feel the pressure building, undo the old switch which is easy to get to from said drivers seat, keeping the pressure on the brake pedal screw the new switch in and push the pedal down slightly as you finally tighten. This will expel the air that is in the new switch and its job done!
Simple.;)
 
Nice one beachboy, I'll give it a go! I seem to remember doing a similar thing with the minor.

Had her running just now and discovered that she won't run without the choke fully out - so it looks like I have some more tinkering to do.

New fuel pump is brill though. It's great to have fuel before you try to start the van, not after :eek:)
