Anyone live near(ish) to Derby

Me and my mates are still thinking of buying another camper but we'd really like to have a look at a proper MOT'd Commer. My friends aren't sure about the idea of a Commer and are thinking of something larger and more modern/boring like a Bedfore. The main debate is that it wouldn't be particularly cosy inside when sleeping and that it would be slow and unstable on motorways. I know the latter is true, but I'm arguing that it would be fixable with an engine swap (diesel preferably) and gas shocks.

Main point though, does anybody live in this area who wouldn't mind showing us around their Commer?

Near enough but we can't really wait that long. We've been offered a Commer and we're wondering whether to go for it, it'll be long gone by May though.

Go for the commer [}:)] if your mates don't like it go it alone...they will soon realise what they are missing & won't be far behind,if they don't,well you've made new friends here [8D]
just remember they do need attention tlc(not your mates)! as with any oldie,but saying that I did over 5,000 miles in Ran over the last year,she does now need fettling...

They're on board if we can sort out the stability, what shocks do people use? Anybody got Bilstein's on their Commer's?

Also, anybody know a good company to do the transporting?

you could try ebay search for car transport,also retro rides advertise their services on there.may be worth giving [email protected] a try,she might be able to fit it in with another job if so you get it a bit cheaper [8D]
a search of the boards here may give info on shocks being experimented with :)

Chloe's available to look at, who said they were unstable at speed? i can cruise close to 70 without any issues, she's also not scared of corners.
