Another diff question

So does anyone know how i can work out the ratio of a diff?
I have four diffs and they are all out of the axles. As far as i can see through the grime they look about the same. How can i work out which ratios they are? Do i just count the crown and pinion teeth and divide it out? It would seem a bit too simple if it was that easy[B)][?]

As far as I know counting teeth is indeed the way to go.

There should be a stamping on the diff case. Failing that turn the input shaft and count how many turns it takes for the road wheel to do one full revolotion.
