Hi Daytona, I noticed you mentioned the van was local and saw you are in Basildon (my original home town). This was the last known home of our old Commer listed in lost and found (JKT 661E), last seen in Whitmore Way. She was exactly the same model as the one just sold. Although sold new in Kent, we bought her at 6 months old from Toomey's in Laindon and as far as I am aware she remained in Basildon for the rest of her days.

Hi, a friend of mine lives in Whitmore way,i've never seen a commer there when going to his house but will keep my eyes peeled now just in case it's still around. I'll tell my friend to look out for it as well as he is into classic vehicles too.
Toomey's now own every franchise in Basildon except Fords VW/Audi and Merc's AFAIK.

Thanks for checking that out. 1985 is not long after I last saw her, so I expect she did not survive[xx(].
Interesting that she is listed as white, as she was in fact, primrose yellow inside and out except for the roof which was white. I can only assume she left the factory in white and was resprayed by Bluebird who did the conversion. One day I will get some photos of her on the forum. It's a pity I can't put video on the forum as I have lots of old cine film of her now in video 8 format.
