Another Autohome

I just saw this on classic campers. It states £350.00, so it could be bargain of the year but it's probably meant to read £3500.00.

It really is only £350! I contacted the owner today, he wants a quick sale as he is moving. I'm a bit nervous about it as I didn't really want a project but it feels too good to miss. What are the back of these vans made out of, is it fibreglass? It looks in quite bad condition so does anyone know how much it might cost to fix all the back panels?

£350 is very cheap for any van but make no mistake this is a big project. The cab door bottoms will need doing and probable the front valance, you may get lucky with the cab door steps and chassis. I think the coach built part is fibre glass, as for cost of repair - I guess it depends on if you decide to paint it with a roller or get a professional spray job done, but it might respond well to some caravan cleaner:) The only sure way of telling is to go and have a look - difficult to tell from a few pics :I

Lets be honest £350.00 you can't go wrong? Or can you... Even if you have to spend £1200.00 on welding and panels hey its still a very cheap camper. Buy it quick otherwise someone else will snap it up!

The red and cream interior in that Autohome thread, above, is totally lush. Greg, do you know who re-trimmed that? Thats exactly what i want my front seats and door cards to look like!

Thank you all, you are all so helpful! If I had been looking for ages and knew a bit more I think I would buy it but it makes me a bit nervous and what with having 2 small children and not a lot of spare time (and only a limited pot of cash) I think we are best to wait for something a little more finished!

Thanks again you friendly bunch! I am sure I will be posting on here again and again and .....

Best thing is to have a look around a few, any chance you can get to the meet we're having in South Wales - there will be at least a dozen vans there:)

All I know is that it's one of Woolfy's contacts.

Fund you? How much funding do you require for your business proposition dear Sir? I will only invest if the pitch is to my liking.

Can you trim the seats and the door cards exactly like this except yellow and white preferably real leather...

I used to have an Alfa Romeo Spider, my god the interior was red leather it really was the best cockpit I've ever had the pleasure of sitting in. I used to sit in my car rather than my front room - it was that good!

This is what the interior of my old spider looked like. I've been in some tasty motors but the interior on the spider was just the best, it looked so well made. It was old italian super car type of design. Top notch stitching on the seats and door cards. I've driven the very latest spider and the interior in that is pretty poor in comparison to it's earlier sibling.
