Alternator

Does anyone know if there's a modern alternator that can be bolted onto a '69 pb? i'm getting a flickering battery light on my dash, but when tested the battery is being charged at 14odd volts...

Any ideas?
 
I was thinking it might be a bad connection or summat, since its still charging both batteries and all...

I'll give it a go when it warms up a little!
 
maybe check that the wiring isn't touching metal somewhere. Had the same thing in my van and was paranoid my batteries were about to die (just before driving over the Pyrenees!), with the battery light coming on whenever i turned a corner... turned out the plastic covering had worn on part of the wiring and was occasionally touching metalwork.

if you need a new alternator you could always take van to a spares shop and show them what sort it is, should be able to pick up a replacement.
 
A Metro one you say, is it beefy enough to charge 2 bats? Hows it fit, i really cant be arsed to start fabricating brackets and such
