Hi
This is not commer related. Our Audi A4 has had oil pump failure and the cost of changing the pump and other related components is coming in at over 2k. So it's cheaper to just find a replacement engine and scrap the current one. Plus my wife drove it until it made a noise..
I've started delving into the murky world of reconditioned and salvaged engines this morning, and it all seems a bit dodgy. I've spoken to 3 salvage yards and they all told me the engines they had are low mileage... Whats the best way to approach this? Should I actually go to the yards to inspect the vehicles which are being dismantled?
