A warning to Autosleeper owners

Hello
just wanted to pass on a quick warning to Autosleeper owners. If you have the cupboards on the back of your rear doors it makes them really heavy. Please be careful.

On friday, Megan (my daughter) tried to close the doors and trapped her finger. We had a trip to casuality and she got a big bandage. Nothings broken thankfully, but its still a bit of mess.

Shes much better now - and we still managed to have a top holiday.

ah bless. i hope shes alright mate. even i have cried some times when ive caught my finger in the door or similar. (BECAUSE I BL--DY HURTS). GET WELL SOON POPPET FROM THE WOOLFMYSTER.;)[B)]

I LOVE THE WAY THAT THE BANDAGE ALWAYS MAKES IT LOOK AS THOUGH YOUR FINGERS SWELLED UP TO AT LEAST TEN TIMES BIGGER THAN NORMAL. GET WELL SOON I HOPE YOU DIDNT CHIP THE PAINT WORK ON YOUR DADS VAN.;)

OOoooooh, I hope she mends fast! Stunning bandage work there!

No chance of me trapping my fingers on my Autosleeper, me back doors are stiff as anything (oooh missus). Speaking of which, anyone know how to free them off?! [?][?][?]

My sympathies to Megan and best wishes for a very speedy recovery.

I almost had a nasty incident in our van yesterday when the wind caught our side door suddenly, slamming it shut as I was shutting it.
My fault really though as I was a bit tired and hungover, perhaps not being as careful as I could've been.

These side doors shut with a real ferocity and worry me somewhat [:0] We have rear doors with cupboards which can certainly be vicious too, they're no match for side doors. Not wanting to demean the pain and damage clearly suffered by Megan, I now shudder to think what'd happened if Megan's fingers had been trapped by a side door slam instead.

I'm trying to figure/engineer a stop or soft close mechanism to prevent a hard side door slam, ie. which almost shuts but then requires an further push or override to actually close completely.
Any suggestions welcomed !

Where accident forms filled in and statments taken and did you have a risk assessment for this activity?

Hi Everyone, Megan is dead chuffed with everyones well wishes (and her pic on the internet!)

Her finger is much better now - the bandage has been replaced with a less comical plaster and its healing nicely.

Paul, I'm thinking about some kind of soft close/anti slam system too, if you have any ideas - let me know!
