:( Yesterday our two week camping trip in Dora came to an end on the M4 outside Cardiff. As I pulled on to the M4 at Swansea as I changed up to fourth gear i heard a clincking noise and some thing sounded as if it hit the bottom of the van.
As we whent further up the motorway another clinking noise was heard so I pulled of at the service area only to find that I could not get any gears [:0]. On investigation I found that the clutch selector arm in the gearbox has become detached inside the bell housing
Today I will be striping out the gearbox (rain permiting)to find out what the problem is.

Sunbeam Sam I will contact you about the wheels do to breakdown unable to collect them.

Oh dear! lets hope you can get her sorted with minimal effort and expense.

How long did it take to get home on the truck?

I do hope the rest of the exploration was glorious!

We did have a good explore in Dora. After a False start - where we had to turn around and come home after the alternater went. This was replaced and we set out again the next day - only to run out of gas (LPG) on a Bridge on a very busy road(with no hard shoulder) over the Llangollen canal. Jim FIXED IT after an hour and a bit and after refuelling we got to the first stop Bridgenorth

She then went great on the gas.

I striped the gearbox out and found that the bolts holding the thrust bearing arm had come out :(. Now back in with locktight :D checked the clutch out still plenty of life so bolted it all back up. I will put the exhaust back on and road test tomorrow (Hopefully a couple of days away in the lakes

Admin three and a half hours on the tow truck 250 miles we had to wait 1 hour 30 for the tow truck (they had to fetch a driver in due to tacho rules and the distance we had to go

Dora and Gloria

Crikey O' Riley how frustrating is that [V], still a simple fault easily fixed - not bad for a van that was destined for the scrappies a few weeks ago. Good job [^]
