Hey all,Got a big trip planned this weekend and during check over i noticed my diff pinion seal had gone from a drip to a trickle. So had to do a quick seal change.
So, I marked everything counted the threads on the nut and marked nut position. Changed the seal and put everything back exact as it came apart. Nice and tight.
Test drive, all quiet and smooth no more leaks.
My question is, after 10 miles at 50MPH i checked the diff and it felt quite hot to touch. You could hold your hand on it but it was pretty hot.
Is it normal for diffs to run hot.
Probably a stupid question but ive never really thought about it or noticed before.:I
Thanks
