'64 J2 For sale

I know this has been listed a couple of times before, it looks in fantastic nick and I thought he'd have listed it with an MOT this time, but apparently not. Why on earth does he not MOT it? Makes absolutely no sense to me at all. Don't get me wrong, it's not mine so I shouldn't be bothered, but it's a very difficult call when you're not just up the road or indeed looking to spend that much cash.

He wont Mot it because it needs a lot of welding!
I drove 250 miles to buy the van on the sellers description and a few phone conversations. On arrival the seller was not there just a couple of his workers who "dont know nuffin about it mate" It needs welding around the front apron and inner sills, there is damp in the living area dspite having been assured that it is bone dry and been kept undercover...must have been in a leaky shed, it`s not a bad camper and very very rare but it`s not as described and way way too expensive. All that glitters is not gold!

No point in messing about, I tell it as it is.
That particular waste of my time involved a round trip of 500 miles and nearly £100 in fuel! Some people think this buying and selling of vehicles is easy money but for every good one there are half a dozen bad ones that sellers are economical with the truth about and "forget" to mention things.
I try and give honest descriptions with my vehicles because I hate being lied to by others and know only too well what its like to drive miles to view something that bears little resemblance to what has been described .
The seller of the J2 has no such problems with lies and does not worry that it costs time and money to go on a wasted journey, he is not there when you arrive and even more laughably he has INCREASED the price from when I first agreed to buy it.quote:

Summer's well and truly done

This one was sold Feb 2010 on ebay from Hull for £3995 I think.

Moley and Brian the Snail :)

1965 Series IIA Bluebird Highwayman

What does glitter and definitely is gold is being part of the 'commervanfan family' Where else could you get honest, up to the minute, important info that you just wouldn't get anywhere else?(just a shame it can cost time and money). I've never met any of you yet, but seems like i've known you for ever. I'm welling up.

Now, where did I put that bleedin sick bag?

If your sick bag is bleedin' then you're coughing up blood, best see a Dr.

I'd spied this as something interesting and yep, rare. But as one who is looking for a Camper, this at 5k plus puts it past Vdub territory and as nice as it is, I'm not interested at anything like that price.

Besides, its not a Commer ;)

That certainly explains it. I've lost count over the years of the time, effort and money spent travelling to look at incorrectly described vehicles. (whether intentionally misleading or not). Beyond frustrating.

hi beachboy its woolfy, reading this it may be better that you come take a look at this ci auto home before you buy it as i dont want you to be disappointed ,as it does need a bit of work around the cab area and door bottoms, but im sure i told you this before in a phone conversation. just dot expect it to be a1 thats all.;)
