Hi, it's been a while (and I forgot my log in details) but I've been skulking in the darker corners of the forum.

It's time to let Patience go to a new home.

Think of her as a 75/80% finished restoration project with the bodywork done and the engine and gearbox repaired or replaced (but not driven for a couple of years) and you'll know what you'll be getting. The condition report I posted from a couple of weeks ago (the latest photos at the photos link below) is:

- So, I went to see Patience for the first time for a couple of years to give her a wash to get ready to sell her. Expecting the worst I thought she'd be a pile of rusty bits...but I was very pleasantly surprised. There's a bit of water damage from the roof around one corner inside meaning a bit of panelling and two of the worktops need some more work. In terms of rust there's a bit on the peak and an egg shaped, but smaller than a standard egg, spot on the roof. Other than that there's odd bits of bobbling but nothing that's broken through the paint. Inside there's no hint of the lino being lifted by water damage and the cab carpets are lovely and clean. Very pleased. Bit of tlc and she'll be good for another 49 years.-

The full story of her restoration is at https://forum.commervanfan.co.uk/threads/bass-39-automatic-camper.1762/

Photos from the restoration and the ones taken a couple of weeks ago are at https://photos.app.goo.gl/0kNCSbzcgC28DWNG3

She's stored in secure storage near junction 10 of the M1 so we'll need to meet up if you want to have a look at her before making an offer.

She's on a SORN and has no MOT so will need to be taken away by trailer.

In terms of price, I am open to offers. I know she's rare, I know she's in decent nick but I know it's a specialist market and, whilst skulking, I've been keeping an eye on the prices vans have gone for through the links on the forum.

Message me through the forum or, for a quicker response email currypaul (at) aol.com

Hi Paul:)
So sad that you have to part company with Patience, you been through a lot with her and such a shame that you cant enjoy her to the full. Unfortunately most of the pics I posted have disapeared off your build thread (thanks Photobucket) but there's enough on there to give a flavour of how much work went into it:)

How could I forget Patience (Bluey) and Bass  It was a really comprehensivr body restoration that took years to do and cost a fortune, I remember the green paint being mixed - it was a gorgeous British racing green metalic  Bass had plans to fit a Perspex panel instead of a pop-top so he could watch the stars while in bed - unfortunately it was not to be and circumstances meant he had to move her on:( It was very sad at the time but it looks like the van had found a new lease of life with Anothernutter:)

This explains the lack of rust on the body just looked at the full rest thanks to this forum it is always worth joining places and this is a fine example of how you go from knowing nothing about something to having years of history.

That's what this place is for and why we keep it going.
Feel free to donate to the cause if you want to show your support :)

Hi Paul, what do you reckon the van is worth? I’m not sure how much the automatic gearbox affects the price or performance.
