THANKS. I can't remember the last fix, possibly something similar, I will take the pipe off to see. I once tried the rim of a fire blanket wrapped round, which lasted about 100 miles in short trips. I was looking today at the idea of welding or brazing a steel break pipe into a circle to make a seal (with an exact fit steel brazing rod in the middle of the tube to improve the join). I however am aware that the steel used on break lines is a kind of rust resistant alloy, so it may be interesting to see what happens if I try to weld it with a TIG or MIG. It might try TIG and feed severed break pipe in to the join. (Digi TIG is my new toy, so I have some learning to do). So many jobs to do and too many cars, but I can't say I don't enjoy tinkering about and getting my hands mucky. Today it was a day off and between several cups of tea I fixed a clutch fluid tube and fuel leak on the Commer, so I made some progress.
