You could use a triumph 2.5 gear knob which has a switch on it, together with a relay which you can put anywhere . It's much more intuitive and easier to operate having the switch on the gear knob.

Just realised it has a non return valve at the end. So not that simple . DOH!

If you take it to a hydraulics specialist they could probably remake it with a new steel tube. They keep all kinds of tube like that. Alternatively get some tube off eBay and bend it yourself around some pipe, re-using the nuts and olives.

I seem to remember that I once tried to remove the (diesel) engine with the gearbox in place. I found that the sump fouled the steering joints/arms positioned behind the front cross member, so I couldn't move the engine forward enough to clear the clutch shaft. In the end I found it much easier...

Could I just add here .......when you put the engine back, my advice is to refit the cylinder head in situ in the van, or it may be too tall.

Gaskets are easy to make. Make a paper pattern tracing the shape with a "dirty finger rub" . Cut out with scissors. You can buy all sorts of gasket material in small bits on eBay, cheap enough to make a few mistakes.

I have had many cast iron exhaust manifolds which have warped so that the flanges aren't straight. Try putting a straight edge across them. You will easily see if they aren't straight. You can straighten them yourself by sticking a couple of sheets of wet and dry abrasive on a flat surface and...

Welcome. Yes, it will be fun . That's not an add-on clutch return spring, it acts as a helper spring to disengage the clutch........or stop it rattling I suppose. Whatever you won't find it in the parts list.

Lovin' that. Does it go Nee-Nah? Is the toy fire truck included? If it's ex fire service it's probably been well looked after and garaged. You'd pay most of that for a recon Perkins 4203.

I just found an aluminium sheet supplier online, and they delivered next day. Most cities have one. I'd advise against 3mm panels. They'd be heavy, expensive, and more difficult to fit. They would deform just the same if you hit anything. I reckon that the original 1.2mm (edited) is about...
