    DODGE SUPERVISTA

Interesting that since RGA specialised in VWs that the original interior did not appear to follow the conventional VW format with side units and a bed over the engine, so must have been designed specifically for a van with rear door access (assuming that the interior which appears on page one of...

    2nd Lockdown Project

Taught my son to drive in one (it was cheaper to buy and insure the car than to add him to my insurance).

Mine is a Gordini in all but name. It is a 1972 TS which was re-badged Gordini in 1974 together with a slight increase in capacity from 1565cc to 1647cc. It was quite advanced for its day, having an all alloy hemispherical engine, fuel injection, disc brakes all round, 5 speed gearbox and...

I eventually got round to working on the bonnet. As expected, the minor bubbling concealed filler and rust with new metal welded over rust along the leading edge. There were also some hefty dents with 1/4 inch of filler. I made a former to make repair panels as the bonnet is gently curved in two...

That looks so familiar. Why do people go to the trouble of welding in new panels over the top of the rusty originals? Looks like your tidy up has turned into a full-on restoration!

    Starting problems

Back in the day (1970s), this was a common problem and our simple solution was to pour a little cold water on the carburetor and fuel line.

That is a lovely looking van with the earlier oak veneer interior. The cupboard in front of the wardrobe was the position for the optional fridge. Later vans had the fridge mounted further back in an elevated position. Does it have the very neat little full height larder cupboard at the very...

    Visiting the vans original owner!

Fantastic bit of history. Interested to note that the cut out above the rear wheels was done by the original owner (about the same time as he started using colour film).

Our 1967 Wanderer had a wooden bulkhead behind the front bench seat which had the other half of the fixing you describe, but I know the later wanderers did not have a bulkhead. As you suggest, there may be some fitting to the rear of the seat. I know Gladys has the later arrangement, so perhaps...

    Washer bottles.

Back in the 60s we had a washer bag, not a bottle, which was fixed on the nearside in front of the door. A quick look on Google and it appears that they are still available.
