Hi I was wondering if anyone has a spare side door for a Commer? Mine is in a the paint shop and he's noticed it's starting to rot along the top edge.

Thanks for your help guys, I was just thinking that it might be of been a easy way to get genuine Dormobile cabinets as they must be a lot more VW's around that Commers but no good if they are a totally different size.

Here's a update on my slow process on the Dormobile, it's been away at a mates to get some welding repairs done as I couldn't find the time to do it..! and it's booked in for paint at the end of the month. I was wondering if anyone knew how many Dormobile Commers are left?? Also does anyone...

I'm thinking about putting on in mine when I get it back up and running, the heater's use very little fuel so I was planning on getting a small fuel tank so I could mount it underneath out of the way and remove it to fill it when needed.

Thanks for the advice guys, an overdrive gearbox does sound the best option or what if I was to put the 4.22 diff in and put onto 14 inch wheels which would drop the overall height a bit which won't be a bad thing either, would it manage that better?

I've got a couple of old engines stood, I'll have a look to see if they are any manifolds with them as I can't remember.!

Hi do you think the standard Commer engine fitted with a Weber carb have enough grunt to pull a 4.22 diff on standard 185R/15 tyres??

Yeah I thought that but it has been off the road since 1982 I was very relieved when it come back intact, so I might treat it to powder coating to protect it for another 40 years

Had a few bits away to the blasters and they all returned in one piece even the heater box..! not bad after 43 years..!

Very tidy Bedford TK, brings back a lot of memories from when I was a kid, my dad used to drive one on the farm, they are very few of the Tk's left in the UK as like the commers they were very prone to rot..

Gutted as well, but it least it gives me a bit more time to get mine back on the road.
