Hope it's working OK !! I seem to be missing out here !! Everyone seems to have a 'mechanic' ! what have I done wrong not to have one !!?

I'm sure you'll be happy with it , they were very helpful with me . Nice to have a mechanic ! send him my way when he's finished :) I haven't thrown the original solenoid away , I just wanted to make sure the contacts are clean and it works . Good luck , looking forward to hearing how it went !!

Hello Malcolm , I am not sure how I will fit it , I've never had electric starter on anything before so don;'t really know ?? Besides , I have lot of work to do on a couple of bikes that must be done before the starter . Saying that , I want to get it done by end of June ! Earlier would be nice...

I gave up on Ratsport as not answered on two online requests or the phone , ordered one from Auto Electric Supplies on Monday(yesterday) it was delivered today (Tuesday) ordered - LMS033 - £252 . No need to remove the exhaust for removal of old one . Not yet fitted the new one as have bike stuff...

Hello , does anyone know if Ratsport is working , I have sent two web site requests and phoned twice and am getting no answer !?? Anyone know anywhere else that I can get a 'high torque starter' and any model numbers etc ?? Thanks would be nice to get reply on here too :) Ken

First of all thanks for all these comments , they inspire me to get my 'Gertrude' running properly . Not sure if problem is solely starter motor as when the engine runs and is hot , it spins very quick and sometimes starts immediately but have been stuck spinning for a few minutes quite...

Hello Angus , how did the new starter motor work out ?? I have to take mine off to try and sort it as just doesn't want to start , engine turns so slow it wont catch !! Cheers , Ken

Unfortunately my Commer (Gertrude) has to live outside but I have a cover by Covercraft of Europe , seems to work well, also have some (3) dehumidifier packs that draw any dampness and can be re used after 10 minutes or so in the microwave !

Presume you have checked the brake fluid and connections ? how old is the fluid , maybe it's gone past its sell by date . Can you see in the resevoir if there is any movement of fluid when pedal pushed !? maybe plunger rubber needs renewing ? Good luck .

Did they go from bad , to you bleeding them then nothing OR just from bad to nothing without any work ??

Thanks , First thing I did , also checked for shorts as battery seemed to go down quick . So bought another battery but same thing ! Have to give good look over when the weather gets a little warmer as have to leave outside (covered) unfortunately ! Keeping batteries charged in garage !
