I put pipe lagging "non asbestos" around mine that i took from an old hot water system and even with the extreme temps here it has made a massive difference. An electric fuel pump also helps by makes starting easier with reduced cranking time that is usually needed to pump up the fuel. :)

I love mine being an Auto, The selector is extremely robust and i like slapping it up and down through the gates on hills etc and when towing. feels like im driving a semi auto Leyland Tiger Cub. Great fun.:D

I believe the Auto trans is a very common Borg Warner 3 speed and was used in may cars in the 60-80's not sure if Auto vans have a bigger bell housing but i dont think so, Only real challenge i can see is the linkages, The original is cable operated dash mounted selector, also needed is...

Hi Steve, I see that you are actually in Perth, a lot closer only half a thousand miles from meo_O I assumed you were in NSW from the plates. You will get all the advice you need on mods/maint here. Dont think anyone has put airbags in yet though. Keep us posted:)

Swapped the starter out with an old lucas spare and success, cranking and starting ok now.:)

Watched it last night, although not really my cuppa thought i would have a look cause of the van, but quite surprised some good acting and a step out of the norm:)

Thanks guys,:) Battery is good i have tested it with hydrometer and swapped it for battery from my daily with same results and both battery's start my daily fine , so will have a closer look at the starter when i get time. I will let you know what the issue is when i find it. ;)
