my guess is the oil in the gearbox is the wrong grade (did you use ep90?) when it's not in gear, the viscosity of the oil could be enough to pull round main shaft... (the input shaft will be going round anyway when the clutch is engaged) can't imagine the overdrive would make any difference as...
