    Found a couple of brochures!

Hi!! A couple of weeks back I went to a classic vehicle show in Surrey. Searching through the stalls I found a few Commer brochures. I couldn't resist and bought two of them. Both are of the poster style and have large color photos. Many of you have probably sen them, but wanted to post a few...

Anyone has an Autosleeper in need of a new home??

Hi there! I am looking for an Autosleeper, preferably pre 1972 but would consider most years (1725cc is more important than the year for me). The van needs to have an MOT or in need of very little work to get one. I have been following the forum and checking for vans for sale for over a year...

despite the price, I even thought about it! But after seing the interior.... it just reminds me of a VW. Not much that can be done in there... why buy a van with a dentist waiting room inside? £6k!! God bless george.

Hi all, could someone tell me what the width of the rear door is? I presume that size is standard for all Highwayman?? Many thanks

    68 autosleeper

£2,900. probably worth around that figure (since someone is paying it!), though 12month MOT was clearly the trigger IMO. oh well, I'll keep dreaming, another one will go on sale at some point...

    commer body ingredients

Didn´t think it was wood framed, interesting! I presume most of the fibreglass is along the top of the van, where less structure strength is needed? I guess this would explain the large amount of rust found around windows and lower parts on many vans... I´m not interested in panels now (don´t...

    commer body ingredients

hi there, couple of beginner questions for you! What is the Commer body made of (apart from rust lol)? Were they initially manufactured with metal panels? And was fiberglass used later on? Nowadays, what is most commonly used for repairs? Second question: How many people can legally travel in...

Nice looking van. Brings many memories to my young campervan life! My ex had one looking almost identical... enough faffing. Unfortunately around £2k is not a realistic ending price... :( Do you reckon the rust (surely an advisory on MOT) will need serious investment in the next couple of...

early pa van "maidstone" on gumtree

"the van needs a mild restoration job..." !! only look at the top of the rear doors. Some sellers are just too cheeky. :(

    I'll have two please!! [:0]

hahha how ridiculous it would be if they actually meant that figure!!

    autosleeper

£5k... Is the starting price realistic? It seems quite high, although the condition and sliding doors/automatic box perhaps justify it...? Much pain for my wallet! Lol Thanks

    pa complete vehicle

precious info Jostein. Thanks. The narrow rear door is a hinder in my opinion, find it difficult to understand why the designer decided that a narrow door was better/nicer/cheaper(?) than a wide one. :/
