sorry your under the weather
had my gallbladder out end of january after having arm ache,and pain over right eye.couldnt even hold a newspaper.didnt have stones but slight inflammation
couldnt beleive the gallbladder caused these problems but it did.only diagnosed by insisting on a hida...
time for the poor ugly duckling to get some proper treatment
its absolutely rock solid ,beautiful under the grime but runs like a bag of nails
so rather than mess about with the old lump its time for a 1725 maybe holbay with overdrive

if it was an older engine i wouldnt be at all concerned but agree you expect better from a rebuild

make sure the battery is fully charged as new/ recon engines are really difficult to start,
daft question have you got the firing order right 1 3 4 2
use fresh fuel
once you have definetly got clean petrol at the carb take the plugs out,squirt easy...
