Market dynamics innit! VW's got waaaaay to expensive, demand was high and Commers were cheap as chips. Now everyone is having a bit of a reality check, VW prices will come down a bit and Commer prices will go up. VW's still have "cool" cachet (fact, not my opinion!)and therefore their value...

Oops! deleted my post instead of editing it! I asked if maybe the clutch plate was on the wrong way round, it's happened to me, but I had a horrible noise when I depressed the clutch. If it is, it catches the nuts on the fly wheel.

Thanks! I am going to give the relays a go first - partly scientific interest, and partly because it should be safer, rather than all that power (!) going through the indicator stalk. I'll let you know how I get on...

Frodo is the height of modernity Chris! Dip/sidelights on the dash (3 way switch) and main and flash on the indicator stalk, that has nine wires going into it!!!!
