New OD old Gearbox...With Gearbox Strip Down Vid

Without wishing to hi-jack your thread, I have just rectified a long, ongoing issue with my D-type OD. It turns out that there was so much wear on the levers that operate the OD isolator switch and the reverse light switch that there were grooves in them,(the levers). It didn't make any...

    COMMER DAY ROOTES ARCHIVE CENTRE

Really good to see Richie and yourself today, Steve. First time I've been to the Archive Centre and was very impressed, although nearly 7 hours in the saddle due to road closures and diversions made it rather tiring, but worthwhile non the less. A lot of very favourable and positive comments...

    COMMER DAY ROOTES ARCHIVE CENTRE

Looking to get to this. Sue wants to visit a friend she hasn't seen for years in Oxford, so it's a good reason to dust off the cobwebs on Jigley and have look at the Archive Centre.

    Staying Cool

In days of yor when I was a young gas fitter we used to "tip" full size gas fridges to try to get them going again, and more often than not it worked. They usually failed to start again after being turned off for de-frosting. For some reason that I could never fathom, one of the fluids either...

    A brace of Commers

Yeah, Babs definitely looking worse for wear. It's been working hard recently, it was at a show at Maldon last week and has been seen at a few other shows and venues in the Essex area over the last couple of months. The peak has quite a bit of rust as has the gutter line of the roof, also the...

Crossply tyres (yes..) - but which type to go for?

Hi Jostein, about 10 years ago I acquired Bridgestone radials that are X-PLY look-a-likes and the same size. The tyre fellow said that they were are fitted to Nissan Cabstars and other such small trucks. The only thing is, I don't know if they are still made or available. As mine still have...

Thanks for all your kind words, gang. It's good to know it was worth the effort, as I thought would be with such a lovely bunch of people. Sue and I also had a cracking time apart from when we lost Colin and Helen, and Charlotte and Rob( Sue's Daughter and son - in - law) who was tailend...

    Gathering in Constable Country

Signs put up off of A 120 into Weeley but unfortunately due to extensive roadworks on the A12 and an unusually large amount of traffic it was too dangerous to be able to stop to put signs up there, but hopefully you will all find your ways O.K.

    Gathering in Constable Country

I know most people have sat-nav and phones that have navigational settings, but look out for the orange direction signs as you are travelling along the A12 joining the A120 and on to the Homestead lake park. When you arrive, go to the reception to book in and I will meet you if you let me know...
