I'm still waiting on insulation and a cable end but I had to test it and.... it works.

Does the dipstick blow out? If I remember rightly an A series dipstick just sits loosely in a hole. Any crankcase pressure will blow it out. It could just be a matter of the wrong oil in the engine ( remember the gearbox uses the same as its in the sump)

You need to run a compression test and cylinder leakage check.

The cover is now covered, the top is actually flat but the pic looks like it's sloping . I'm still waiting on the fibreglass insulation to arrive though. The sealing panels are all painted in high temp silver and I mounted the release handle behind the passenger seat.

Skin time. I made templates of the inside for the insulation when it arrives. The skin is 1mm aluminium which is being riveted in place. Both sides and the top are on now. I need them on so I can cut the front in situ.
