Well thanks to Tim who saved the flooring he had to remove.. the van now has its original 43 year old plywood floor down. It needed cutting to fit around the engine, cage and battery box though.
At least something on it is original lol
Welcome to the pita job of bleeding the brakes. I think it's a 3/8 pipe.
I have recently replaced the reservoir with a modern alternative which meant I could fit a pressure bleeder.
OK so... a line lock turns out to be an electrically operated one way valve and NOT an electrically operated shut off valve..
I pressure bled the system and tested the line lock by hand. It was letting the rears lock on and release when turned off.
It turns out that the inlet and outlet need...
Well I did some digging and I managed to source a new brake reservoir with a modern 45mm cap, meaning a pressure bleeder will fit. It even fits in the standard mounting bracket
Nope. Commer brakes are a pain to bleed. 2l though already, I locked all the shoes up, still not got a decent pedal. Tried vac bleeding, getting an assistant to pump etc no pedal. Pressure bleeder won't fit.
More fluid ordered.
