Well I got a 200N 700mm strut with eyelet ends. I'm now making it fit (it works BTW)
I used my drill press and grinder as a lathe to turn down bolts into pins.
Hinges are on. (I went for the smaller ones) I'm now modifying a Skoda tailgate latch with a cable release. It's on and works, lots of adjustments and trimming to do though.
I'm hoping to pick up some ally sheet tomorrow so I can skin it all.
Had to cut it up and start again before I figured out why it didn't look right. The upper curved piece had a twist to it. I remade it with flat sheet.. all done now. Next job.. hinges.
More at it today. The lower curved panel for the cover. Can't bend it up from one piece so 3 were welded together. I'm chuffed as to how it turned out. Still more to do though
I'm trying to plate the floor to give a flat surface for a seal to sit on. It's not a perfect fit but there's some wiggle room.
