If it's not a hydraulic issue, it's the mainshaft binding in the spigot bearing.

They do usually have some sort of marking on the diff. I'm not sure the auto version is any different.

Early 1500 diffs are 5.6, normal vans are 5.1 and spacevans are 4.77. This one will be 5.1.

If you squint really hard when the light catches it right, it's just about visible....

Forgot to post this. Made a stainless repair panel for the door.

Made a radiator recovery tank too.

4.12 H/D diff now fitted. Much better, slightly overgeared, which can be adjusted on tyre profile.

A fight with the window catch ended with me having to make a new one in 316 stainless.

We took out the standard Perky, this is a late 80s Pug 2.5D from an LDV400, which i've mated to a Lexus 6 speed.

She's a runner! Fired straight up and sounds sweet, very little smoke, clutch, gearbox and diff all working well. Apart from a couple of minor leaks, now fixed, it's just the fan not kicking in due to the wrong thermostatic switch and alternator not charging. Pulls very well too, i think...
