Thought it was about time I started a thread about my new Dodge van.
the previous owner spent £000`s to get her back on the road, but lost heart when he couldn`t get it running after being stored.
This is where I come in. I sold my beloved Mini Clubman estate to fund it.

Initial diagnosis was a lazy starter and loose dizzy.
The starter was reconned (£55)and refitted. The timing corrected and a fresh helping of fuel and she was running!!![8D]

Initial inspection is good, the tyres were shot so I replaced them and fitted new innertubes (£120). and there is a couple of small holes near the handbrake to weld.

I`ve done a few miles now, I don`t know how many as the speedo doesn`t work.:p

Long story short.... My other car is called Freddy. Freddy's girlfriend is called Daphne.

I sorted my garage into 4 piles of stuff.
1. Stuff I`m keeping
2. Stuff I`m not getting rid of.
3. Stuff I might use..one day.
4. Stuff that might come in handy.
 
Back to it tomorrow hopefully. Going to strip out the back and get it ready for paint before it gets covered in ply lining. Need to preserve the metal befor it rots.

I sorted my garage into 4 piles of stuff.

Yup. I agree.
Went to see Martin today to remove a towbar. The bugger was practically welded on!!! Looks like another source needs to be found ;-)
He had a play with the timing but it still cuts out when changing down. Suspects water in fliat chamber..
Managed to find a replacement fuel cap seal too. The original was perished and letting in water. The new seak isnt identical but 2 minutes with scissors and it fits perfick.

You need to change your tank filler neck to the earlier model!
You will never stop it leaking in water there a crap design as the water runs down the side of the roof into the rain gutter off the end of the rear quater and straight into you tank[V]

Are they interchangeable even with my alliy tank?
No work done today due to the bloody rain!! Swrpt out the back and cab floor.
Need to strip carb... Arr lass wont be happy tomorrow when it's on the kitchen table!

Nice Mini[8D]
Mine's currently nestling under several layers of dust quietly dripping oil on the garage floor[8)] My next project is to get it back on the road for some serious Mini fun after Bonnie is sorted (and the bathroom and the kitchen:I)

Get it fixed up. Mine sat for 3 years before i sold it. Only problems were perished fuel hose and a siezed clutch. Both took a total of an hour to sort.
The inital sale was to fund a Skoda 1203 van (google it)but Daphne came up for sale at the right time for the same money....but not needing driving back from Czech republic!
