The F.T

Hey guys, after a long absence from myself on the site and between my Commer and I, I finaly have my baby back from the welders. Whilst it was there i also had a little slam job done to it![8D]. It is in NO way any where near finished though, it litteraly was just the welding i paid for and im going to fill, sand, paint (maybe) myself. Also i still have to finish the bloomin roof which ive had in storage but now have room to work on it again. In case you cant remember its a wanderer and the roof was just insanely rotten. Metal AND wood!! Anyhow i havent had a chance to do much to it since its been home and havent uploaded many pics, but here is a sneak preview...

Cool ! It looks like it is aspiring to be the first ever Commer Popemobile :D (with the open roof at the back, I mean)

Looks really good. :)

Awesome dude (I think that's the correct terminology:I)
That really does look good - I love it[^]

It does look rather cool:D must be very awkward trying to change a wheel though, standard ones are tricky enough...

They went on so they must come off again - unless they were bolted up before the axle was attached

Cheers guys. The pope mobile haha :). It was interesting driving it home like this, many a bemused look. It has crossed my mind to convert it into one huge ragtop, but dont worry the wanderer roof will go back on. The wheels are American Chevy Camaro wheels from the 80's and are factory white.

Looking brilliant, I wish mine had progressed that quickly.

Are you still interested in some Wanderer parts, I can take a picture of them if you still are?

Any chance of your email address for facebook? I have the pictures up of my van on there as well.

What size tyres do you have on those Camaro wheels?

If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?
Peggy's got an MOT !!! (not a lie)

I can't say I am a great fan of the slammed look, but that just looks right! You may have converted me.

Good stuff, i love the lowered look. To lower it the springs have been cut at the front and i have had some super thin tyres put on, and at the back the axle has been fliped. If you want to know more about how it was lowered email Milk&two as he's the chap who did it! He has written a good reply to someone else on here before about how to lower it. The tyres at the front are 190/50r15 and im not sure of the rear ones as i didnt look. The rear ones are the ones that came with the wheels meant for a muscle car, i think they look pretty cool as they have white sign writing - cooper cobra!! Ill check what size they are when i get a mo.

Bazil, if you wouldnt mind taking some pics of your old roof that would be much apreciated as ive got loads to do to mine and any bits i could use from yours would be great. Ooo i definatley need a window thinking of it.

Hi mate .. im a good friend of bobs when i pop over to see him the other week i saw your van looks very cool indeed !!cant wait to get mine slammed ...
