Noooooooooooooo

After 58 years in business, Speedy Spares Services Ltd will cease trading on the 28th March 2024.
This voluntary decision to close has been taken after months of serious deliberation whilst thoroughly exploring all of the options.
Recent years have seen many challenges. Brexit, the pandemic and the cost of living crisis have all taken their toll. With increased manufacturing costs, escalating operating costs and a dwindling demand for classic car spares, it has become impossible to continue trading.
We would like to express our gratitude to our customers for many years of loyal support, we are devastated that we will no longer be able to provide our services.
Speedy Spares will be open as normal for any parts orders you wish to place, until close of business on the 28th March 2024.
Please make sure that any items with a surcharge, which need to be returned for a refund, are received by 18th March 2024 so this can be actioned before we close.
If you have any queries about the closure, or you are interested in purchasing our remaining stock, please email [email protected]

Thank you again for your business.

Gutted. First Commer Van Spares and now Speedy Spares. It's going to get harder and harder to keep these vans on the road. Hopefully they'll at least see a surge of business before March.

Can somebody tell me why there is reduced demand for classic car spares? Is that just people tightening belts and leaving their classics in the garage?

I think that's it exactly. I think you will still be able to find stuff, Power Track supply the hydraulics and there are another couple of suppliers but I can't remember who they are. Who knows someone might buy Speedies out and continue the business - here's hoping.

Gutted. Hopefully someone will buy it. Times change and so times become tough for specific businesses. A bit difficult to change from classic parts to ev parts overnight.

Christ this is rubbish news, but something that crossed my mind that might happen only the other week strangely enough. That shop is relatively local to me. Not been in years, but it was an amazing old school Aladdin's Cave inside; well worth a visit, which is exactly what I'm going to do now.

I also hope someone takes over Martin's operations or that he does a final run panels. I can't be the only one who's not got round putting through a very big order (currently giving myself a good kicking for procrastinating!)
