and sometimes it takes a while for u to get used to the van , i have a good few posts up about mechanical issues but after just doing the basics most of the mechanical issues were just down to the van needing a good run , i havent moved the fuel lines or made any changes to the engines part layout and she runs like a dream , The van sorted its self out after a few runs , no fuel evaperation ect , just the one thing i would like to know are the gears straight on H direction or are they off at an angle like some othef old vans ? Anyway i just want new owners to commer vans that sometimes its u and not the van . Happy new year all

Yep they like to be used, the gear change should be as conventional as most car gates - ie straight down from 1st to 2nd.

Great thanks panky , i was drivimg it unsure of the direction of the gear change so was all over the place as i was unsure , now i will do the straight ahead gear change , also i had to change the clutch master and the slave with new piping so maybe there could be still a bit of air in the system , my first time doing it . Love the look of the new site ,took me a few lminutes to get into it but thats because i am a computer technolyphobe. Anyway thanks again and a happy new year to u and all

Mine is like this lolIMG_2396.png
as it has so much play in it. Can’t just bang it through the gears. Slow and carefully. The long gear lever probably exaggerates it. Happy new year.

Compared to ur image of the gear change on ur van mine doesnt seem to bad , its actually okish . HAPPY NEW YEAR TO U TOO

Could anyone tell me will any size 14 inch hub caps fit a commer , I mean from another vintage vechicle with the same size wheel ? Or has anyone got an original set for sale

I've never found another type that fits and not seen any alternatives fitted to other vans unfortunately.

I found a set at an autojumble that looked identical but they were a quarter inch to small to fit on the lugs, they were the closest match I've seen.
