Hello Commer fans.
This is our newly acquired 1967 sunbeam funwagon. My wife convinced me to bring it home to replace her 8 years owned 71 westfalia.
We bought this knowing almost nothing about Commers or Sunbeams! We have had a lot VW type 2 and vangon experience over the last 10 years... Its time for something different. I will miss the easy availability of the vw parts
We towed it home in a non running state.
Once home, I managed to free up and lubricate the stuck throttle linkage and fiddled with the choke butterfly enough to make it run.
It sounds great surprisingly! The seller claims it only has 20k ish original miles... maybe he's right.
Now time to sell our 71 westfalia so we have some money to put into the funwagon over the winter.
Very happy to have a LHD model.
Tucked in my workshop.
Im not sure why the bungee cord is on the clutch lever?? It was terribly hard to get moving, but i figured it was because the brakes are dragging.
