Clutch fails when engine /gearbox warm COMMER PB 1725 manual

I have a clutch problem. It fails when warm and you can't change gear. Despite visibly moving the lever at the slave when the pedal is pressed as normal, the clutch will not move enough to engage any gears until you let it cool for a few minutes. Added to that, if you try to start the van in gear when warm with the clutch pressed it turns over really slow and when you pull into neutral the engine turns over free from strain. BUT ONLY WHEN WARM after a few miles.
You may have an idea what might be happening, before I drop the box to look. So it sounds like a clutch or master cylinder problem and not box.
I put a new clutch in recently (within 100 miles).(I have done that job before and I work on my cars every week. No problems for a few miles besides a linkage issue which is now fixed with new bushes. The Dot4 is also new.

I has exactly the same issue. I bled the clutch through making sure every drop of old fluid was out and the clutch returned to normal. Old fluid attracts moisture and because the exhaust downpipe is pretty close to the slave cylinder I was getting vapour lock causing the problem.
Even though your fluid is pretty new it's worth a try as you might have an air bubble in there causing a similar effect.

I guess you know this if you work on cars but make sure the bleed nipple is at the top of the slave too so it bleeds properly - have seen them upside down! as Panky says it’s most likely the fluid getting hot from the exhaust. I actually wrapped my slave cylinder when I had an exhaust that ran really close to it - the new exhaust is much further away.
