    Advice on 1971 Commer camper

Hi Cathy and welcome aboard. I'm sure it does feel like a mine field at the moment but like everyone else is saying all the rusty bits can be cut out and refitted with excellent hand made panels by Martin. I don't think there's many of us on the forum that haven't had to use any during there...

    Britain's Next Top Model

Nice one Paul. I managed to get some paint made that matches my original colour. Apparently it's some sort of heavy duty industrial paint (don't ask me what it's called though lol).

I'm sure it won't panky. Same can't be said for the wife though hahaha

    First getaway

After 4 years of ownership Jimmy is at last booked in for our first few nights away this may bank holiday weekend. Its been a lot of hard work and dedication but we are very excited and even more apprehensive about it lol. Last night we managed to complete the interior to give us humble living...

    14" hub caps

Like a cob perhaps. That makes sense. I will try and measure them if I get a minute. They are close but not close enough

    14" hub caps

Basically they are the chrome hub caps that press over the 3 lugs on the steel wheel and cover up the wheel nuts and hub bearing. basically like the ones in the attached photo. Although they are 15"

    14" hub caps

Does anyone run on 14" rims as I have just bought a pair on the understanding that they were 15". Obviously they are to small and are now sat idle and I fear they are a tad to heavy for a Frisbee.

    Nice Stamp Collection

Ahh the half pence. Could you imagine the youth of today standing at post office counting out 19 1/2 pence for a stamp.

It's not just the parts Martin it's the mass of knowledge that you posses on all things commer related. A scary thought that we will all be left to our own devices but saying that I wish you all the best for your retirement.

    Resto update

Nice one dodgeram. He's got the ply lining up which would be great. Made harder for me by having 5 windows in the roof.

I'll use the heat resistant glue just to give it the best chance. I was told by a guy ages ago that giving the roof a coat of pva helps, which makes sense as it's a waterproof adhesive primer.

Brilliant idea Martin. Have you ever done this and if so did you use normal high contact spray glue or heat resistant glue or maybe something else? I have both but obviously the spray glue is a lot easier to use.

I was thinking about bonding some smooth polystyrene sheet to it then painting it. From what I removed it looked like they had done that originally.

It's attaching anything to the roof panky that is the stumbling block. I'm thinking of maybe attaching some thin board with screws. The problem is that you have to be absolutely 100% accurate as you must get the screws in the strengthening seams or they will go through the roof.

Well that's the inside of Jimmy lagged and sound proofed it just leaves the roof to do which is a bit of a conundrum. Does anyone have any ideas?
